(January 20, 2006) - HIMSS Analytics™ LCC, the source of Innovative Research for Informed Decisions, announced today new products and enhancements to their HIMSS Analytics™ Database that will be shown at their booth #2527 at the 2006 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition in San Diego, Feb. 12-16. One of the new features to be highlighted is a database of vendor-supplied product information for use by CIOs who participate in the HIMSS Analytics survey.
Along with the new vendor information, other important enhancements for clients of the HIMSS Analytics Database, which captures information on over 4,000 hospitals and 28,000 medical facilities in the U.S, includes additional contact names and data elements, and new reporting capabilities.
New ProductsHIMSS Analytics State Healthcare Knowledgebase
HIMSS Analytics will also provide the new State Healthcare Knowledgebase and report products to the healthcare industry in the second quarter of 2006. This unique information source will supplement the highly regarded HIMSS Analytics Database with state-specific data. HIMSS Analytics will create effective linkages between the HIMSS Analytics Database and the State Healthcare Knowledgebase to further enhance the value for clients who purchase both.
The new knowledgebase will provide a wealth of new data on state-specific statistics related to general economics, revenues and budgets, population, employers, software and technology statistics, hospitals and health systems by ownership and type, hospital financial statistics, payer information and Medicaid & Medicare spending by category.
State Healthcare Information Reports will have the statistical tables and additional information on economic drivers, terrorism preparedness, CDC reporting systems, Health Advisory Council listing, and Regional Health Information Network (RHIN) overviews.
Expert Report on "Essentials of the Hospital IT Market"
Using the HIMSS Analytics™ Database, HIMSS Analytics has assessed industry trends related to legacy IT systems, emerging IT systems, current technologies, and emerging technologies. The new report forecasts market spending for key applications as well as vendor market share for major financial and clinical applications. The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Adoption Model
HIMSS Analytics also announced an exciting new methodology to score all hospitals in the Database on their levels of EMR implementations, from the foundation ancillary departments and CDR environments to seamless and paperless capacity to participate in EHRs. The EMR Adoption Model score is being introduced as part of the CIO peer comparison reports. This new feature will allow CIOs to compare their organizations with their state's average score, blinded peer scores and the median and average regional scores of the other 4,000 hospitals in the HIMSS Analytics Database.
