VP, HIMSS Analytics Operations

We currently have an opening for a Vice President, HIMSS Analytics Operations. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, HIMSS Organizational Services, you would be responsible for overseeing the operations and promotion of the data collection, quality assurance, support and client services for annually updated database of healthcare IT information.  This position interacts with the vendor community to ascertain data needs that can be served by the data base. This position is a major source of publishing for HIMSS which reinforces the value of the data base and HIMSS as a world leader in advocating for healthcare information technology.  Through leadership of the CIO Advisory Board and the Vendor Advisory Board to the HIMSS Analytics Data Base, this position contributes to the design of the survey instrument and manages workflow processes and required changes to increase profitability.

In this dynamic position, you will:

  1. Create and develop strategies that will increase the value proposition for the HA Data Base.  Advise executive management relative to new initiatives to undertake to increase revenue.
  2. Provide and present key information to the Organizational Services Board to enable the Board to serve their leadership and visionary responsibilities.
  3. Present industry trends and analysis to executive management teams, Boards and other key decision makers at healthcare provider organizations and healthcare IT vendor and consulting organizations.  Represent HIMSS as an industry thought leader through speeches at industry conferences in the US.
  4. Stay abreast of industry trends. Author white papers, trade magazine and peer-reviewed journal articles. Author annual HIMSS publications derived from HIMSS Analytics data, including but not limited to The Annual Report and the Essentials documents.
  5. Direct the management staff that directly oversees the data collection, data verification and quality process, the data base design, testing and deployment. Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and successful publication of the data to HIMSS Analytics clients.
  6. Develop new markets for the HA data base in conjunction with the vendor community.
  7. Develop a sub-contracting role for the HA Data Base by connecting with the consulting community.
  8. Create and adhere to HA data base development project budget and establish deliverable schedule.
  9. Provide cost estimates for new data elements and ad hoc projects.
  10. Develop annual survey instrument, making initial data elements suggestions and interview design in conjunction with the CIO Advisory Board.
  11. Work with clients and production teams to identify problem data area and provide solutions and ensure product satisfaction

Qualifications
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  1. Must have a Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred.
  2. Must have a minimum of 10 years of operational experience; a minimum of five in managing an Operation.
  3. Has proven experience in product growth and market development in the healthcare IT industry.
  4. The ability to think critically, develop a plan and implement a solution; strong analytical ability balanced by excellent writing skills.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills – The ability to respond and work with a wide range of personality types internal and external to the organization.
  6. Product support or training experience (preferably in the healthcare IT sector)
  7. Excellent oral & written communication skills.
  8. Strong computer Skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  9. Self-starter who takes initiative and can apply creativity to solutions.
  10. Flexibility of character that is comfortable with ambiguity.
  11. The ability to create structure to effectively manage priorities and achieve goals.
  12. Goal oriented, and driven to succeed.

Market Research Associate

HIMSS Analytics is looking for assertive, confident, and professional individuals to collect data from Chief Information Officers and other professionals within healthcare organizations throughout the country. Successful candidates must be goal driven with great organizational and time management skills. The ability to communicate effectively using a winning personality will be key to collect extensive amounts of information. These individuals will be expected to spend most of their time on the phone as well as using proven research techniques to assimilate data from a number of sources. Previous research experience and/or conducting business-to-business telephone interviews is desired. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about information technology in the healthcare industry while growing with a young company.
